Great review, shame i just spent twenty minutes reading people write the same thing... in my opinion nickelback ARE amazing, all the right reasons is one if not their best album, like the reviewer i got into them with silver side up and how you remind me, since then theyve only grown on me more. If people don't have the same opinions as me (thank god) thats fine, however, whoever made a jab at the drumming on this album has to be having a laugh. The opening to follow you home is one of the tightest drum beats and nicest sounding things ive heard in ages... im presuming, and forgive me for stereotyping... but i'm presuming you might be more of a slayer fan? whacking a double bass pedal as fast as possible to every single song? so they sound exactly the same? forgive me if im wrong but i'd love to hear back from you. anyway great review, nickelback rock, disapointed in your rating for follow you home tho, its easily a 4...

This morning I got awaken to my alarm clock-radio playing the usual station... Its a classic rock/alternative rock channel which means it plays all types of rock. Anyways back to the waking up part. So I get this rude awakening by my alarm clock-radio, playing nickelbacks "Savin' me" and not only did i want to just turn over and go back to sleep but I kicked my radio harder then usual to get it to stop with the tumor endussing music. I have to say Chad Kroeger has one of the most annoying voices I have ever heard. And the lyrics were more cliche then my dad nagging me to get a job. I'm serious ... "save me" ... Oh come the fuck on... how many songs have I heard that in? I've heard trance/house lyrics better then that!
I was a NB fan back when Curb and the state came out in 2000. I'm sorry thats when they were a hard rock band now they are a solid pop/commercial rock band.

True story:
On the first listen of "Photograph", I was able to sing along with Chad at points, correctly singing the lyrics and melody. I repeat: first listen.
That's pretty amazing that you could predict the personal lines like "Kims the first girl I kissed," and "How did our eyes get so red, and what the hell is on Joeys head."

Well, he never said every line.
Stuff like 'look at this photograph, every time I do it makes me laugh' is pretty easy to pick, and so's the path the melody will follow.
Nickleback should change their name to Dr. Poser and The Cliches.
God what a detestable sham of a band they've become.

Oh, it's not just Photograph. I'm opposed to the whole thing.
I just think they have almost no redeeming qualities, and I've listened to this album in it's entirety, so I feel like I have an informed opinion.
To be fair, it's not so much the music that ruins this for me, it's Chad Kroeger's insipid lyrical ineptitude and overbearing delivery, much the same way Scott Stapp ruined Creed.
