Did this album really need a sixth "5" review? Not that this isn't a damned fine piece of writing, it very much is and I in fact agree with almost everything you've said here. But man, I can't believe how much people freak out about this album. It's great, even brilliant at times, but I don't know, for me it's never really "clicked" into that territory where it's just an automatic 5 and it's the kind of album that changes one's life. This wouldn't even crack into my top twenty albums of the last twenty years, and that's not meant as an insult either. I just kind of wish more albums got attention and write-ups over just having twenty people with a "5" review for this one album that has been ranted and raved about already by the masses of hipsters and bloggers and indie music fans worldwide for a decade now.
