"Definite Darkness" is one of the most life-affirming, soul-stirring songs in existence.

this album truly throws song structure out the window and yet is still decidedly indie rock

After a few listens to this I still can't make up my mind about it. I'm pretty big on the other 3 and this was the last one I got around to,so maybe that plays into it. It all sounds good but it's difficult to absorb or determine some standouts. It'll probably grow on me... I mean I listened to them on and off for years before they really clicked.

Checking in years later - the band has disbanded, written two masterpieces since this, and Joe's Empty Country album is too damn good. Is this albums still amazing?...yes.
