one of the most generic, dull, boring post metal albums i've ever heard. the circa survive vocals in the second to last song made me literally burst out laughing. go listen to neurosis and stop sucking off plagiarists. awful band, awful album, laughable review.

Great album
Doesn't top Hungry For Hands' I Was Hungry For Hands as my favourite post-metal album of the year though

The second song on this (I forget the name) is incredible.

Slowly cooling off on this album and editing accordingly. Honestly, people? 1.5? 2? Go troll somewhere else. Jeesh.

i give it a 1.5 because i find it to be highly unoriginal, a sound that i've heard way too many times, and they don't even do it that well. the songwriting leaves a lot to be desired. the concept is a huge turn-off as well. i really did not enjoy the his dark material books at all.

Those books weren't good, but a concept album about the fall of Lucifer *is* a good idea.

@terminusest, well an opinion is an opinion I suppose. And since you give a thoughtful reason for digressing from the consensus, I can't complain too much.

everyone should check out Momentum, they have members of Fall of Efrafa/Light Bearer, it's good
dark/crusty/melodic hardcore
|
| |
The word "crusty" just makes me not want to check out particular bands, to be honest. Even if it's good music, that word is just nasty as hell

I've listened to this record several times over the past few months, but still cannot decide on a rating. I'm hovering between a 4 and a 4.5. I think the only thing holding me back from the 4.5 is the fact that, despite the lyrical concept sounding incredibly cool, I simply cannot understand what the fuck they are saying about 90% of the time. And I don't want to listen to the music with a lyric sheet open, hoping to catch and comprehend fragments. I really wish I could decipher growling better.

Excellent review! I've heard this album a bunch of times and now I think that I'll still appreciate new things about it, now that you've described them in such a clear and objective way.

Really digging the track Lapsus.
|

Not sure on it at all... doesn't seem to be original and seems a bit overrated on here. You also say his lyrics are terrific but I can't make them out through his screaming.
|
| |
great album but yeah, not close to a 5. Overrated.
