"Not to accuse Lazzara of hopping on Christianity as a trendy thematic unifier, even though it really really really looks like he did just that, it’s just that his ignorance of the subtleties that can make Christianity an effective way of expressing personal conflict render him benign, much like how his ignorance of the subtleties that made him and his rotating band of unmerry men lovable in their first two incarnations renders Taking Back Sunday suddenly bland."

This comes across as rather verbose and is hard to digest, especially towards the end of a review like this.

Other than that, yeah, I agree. This sounds like Taking Back Sunday going through the motions.
