This could go on forever since you keep on ignoring what I'm actually saying and respond with "ur a meany".

I like this album, not as much as Paradise but about on par with The Odyssey

Just FYI, i think i get what you were saying with the sports thing. I was taking it to mean that you could only gain an equal ability level to a better player you were playing against, not that you could better yourself and in doing so surpass them. I think that is what you meant? That's why I kept saying you were wrong with that.

Ok...well this is somewhat of a disappointment.

It's not that it doesn't sound good, it sounds great, it's just not what I expected it would be.

Paradise Lost was a nice progression from The Odyssey, however I was hoping to hear more of their classical side on this album, a bit more like The Odyssey but epic and heavy like Paradise Lost. In other words I was hoping for riffs to be heavy like in PL but also that they would return to being called a neo classical metal band.

Good album, best one I've heard this year as a matter of fact, just not what I expected. If only all the songs sounded like "When All Is Lost," the piano-guitar combination sounds amazing. Also, as someone already said...I really hate the "super mario" keyboard sections they use...that's why I stopped listening to Dream Theater all together, it sounds ubergay.

This sounds like an uninspired Paradise Lost with a little more synthesizer

Amazing guitar here, but I'm not into the Iron Maiden-like vocals.

I'm never very critical of anything the top power/prog metal bands do. Have they rewritten any of their old songs? No, these are new songs that have different identities, although some of the riffs are similar. It still sounds incredible and these guys can still play. Maybe not as good as Paradise Lost but it's an excellent album.

It sounds Pantera style riffing combined with Dio style vocals combined with Symphony X. To be honest, I didn't like the earlier stuff that they did, this stuff is more of my pace. Some nice riffs, his pipes are stellar, and their isn't TOO much wankery, but I mean, Romeo does shred.
