Totally my album of the year. Problem is, I've got quite a few that are good contenders. Still, this is one of my favorite releases in years.

i was thinking this would be my AOTY. it's pretty close, but i always feel AOTY should be more suited to "any mood"

cant tell if this would benefit or suffer from better production

I dunno, I feel like it's good where it is. It would lose its natural feel if it were overproduced... At least, that's what I think.

it feels slightly distracting from what are really awesome sounding songs

Huh, I don't really notice that. But, I can see where you're coming from.

I mean, the guy made the album with logs and home made instruments lol, so you're probably gonna get some of that lo-fi feel. I hope he keeps working on some music, because it'd be cool if he continued to expand on this concept, and maybe add in a few more musicians.

Maybe he could up the production value on his future material. It might benefit it.

yeah, i mean there are a lot of really delicate, perfect moments within the gritty production but sometimes there could be a lot more professionalism backing the big grand moments

Its great to see a positive response on here about the album, dont know if many people know but the album is based on five orphans that they have on stage with them live in the form of painted wood cut outs and each song is sung through the five characters individual side of the story. There's a film being made about the House of Stone.

Yeah, I found out about the orphan album concept recently man. That's pretty cool stuff. I think the guy's a visual artist, as far as I've read.

His voice is one of the best I've heard in awhile, still gets to me every time I spin this.
