There's a lot of delusion and arrogance in this user's review using "we" instead of "I" in his dislike of the band and Amy Lee lol. Speak for yourself, millions of us love the band's musical fusion and evolution and its leader's powerful, enigmatic voice and musicianship.
As for Origin, it's solid overall, especially as Amy and Ben were young and Amy's vocals and melodies are always enchanting, but the one song that stands out to me is "Lies"; however, musically it sounds like it was spliced up from different parts recorded at different times. It doesn't sound like a song with the instruments organically put together. Fallen sounds like that a bit as well, just more polished obviously. Fallen, however, is so musically monochromatic guitar and drum-wise, that the potential you can hear there is squandered by the mediocre guitarist. I'm glad the band continued without the one-note guitarist responsible for that. The Open Door is a great, diverse album, and the continued evolution and experimentation thereafter is also appreciated.
