Mike, you know as much as anyone that I love LIS and fell in love with it on first listen, but it still has Better Half and Love Worth Keeping on it, two very average songs surrounded by greatness. This doesn't have a dud track - no, not even English Curse.

LIS is more visceral and standoffish. This is much more subtle (well not really but in comparison) intimate.

Yeah, I'll agree that Love Worth Keeping is a pretty average song, but the chance that I'll want to listen to Rivers or Nights Become Days (although great songs) over Substitute or To Take You Home is really unlikely. I guess what I'm saying here is that on LIS I love pretty much every song, while on this I love a few songs and like the rest.
And I do really enjoy English Curse

"Glory Hallelujah" hit me in such an awesome way, something about thousands of people singing along to that at a concert makes me smile.

He's way sharp on the "hear ye" parts at the beginning of I Still Believe it always makes me stop the
song before he really gets into it
EDIT: Thanks strikey

dylan had more of an "I don't give a fuck" way of singing Frank actually tries to sing properly and
succeeds most of the time but it's physically painful to listen to when he's just that off

This album finally sunk into me today.. this has serious possibilities to be better than love ire and
song for me on a personal level. And although love ire and song was more cohesive, this album still
flows amazingly well. right now my key tracks are: Rivers, Wessex Boy, and Redemption. but really,
this totally makes up for poetry of the deed which fell to my expectations.

definitely a great album but love, ire and song hit harder. English Curse sucks, though. Kinda ruins the album for me briefly.

english curse is a great song, if you're not doing a keg stand while it's playing. whenever i listen to this album i'm usually in my car by myself, and really this whole album is dedicated to England, so it was pretty fitting. The only thing is that I wish his voice was more powerful on the track. More raw energy when he sang it live.

It was so fucking good live. He sang it when the power went out on his guitar and it was just stunning.

na it's just not my cup of tea. most of the time i listen to music it's in solitude. also.

I understand, to each his own. I plan on getting massive amounts of people to sing If Ever I Stray at a bonfire this summer.
