This album was bought for me Xmas 1977. I had cooled with Bowie after being a crazed English Ziggy fan

until 75 when he became a soul singer. Hearing "Low" for the first time sounded like music from a new

planet. It still does. Where do I get a ticket to go there? Maybe at the Pearly Gates.

eh i don't care about having too many 5's. this album in particular exists like in a realm of it's own though. for me this is an album like loveless, where it's so good that it's practically not even music anymore. or like you said, it's transcendent

Its not that I care about how many fives I have as much as there really are so many great albums that I dont really know which ones to 5. There isnt much of a difference to me between a 4.5 and 5 quality wise. Even alot of 4s have the quality of a 5 but maybe I just havent listened to them enough. Theres only so many minutes in a day I can jam. The 5s have been with me longer I guess, but I dont take ratings too serious. Anything above a 3.5 I love basically, but Ive still only rated about 1/4 of my library, which is getting way too big. I need to stop downloading so much shit but its addicting.
