I usually feel more comfortable with longer sentences for whatever reason. Hopefully practicing will help me present the same points in a less wordy manner.

Yeah it can be a tough habit to get out of. But if you're conscious of your bad habits or weaknesses you'll improve with more writing and practice.

I'm still stuck at a 3 because I prefer The Fame and I gave it a 3.5 when I reviewed it.

3.5 is actually everyone's "Good" rating, if you think about it

3.0 is the numerical median

One of the best reviews I've read on this site. Pretty much spot-on as well.

The album's growing on me with every listen. Good call on industrial and rock influences on this one. You are right the production while generally proficient, definitely hinders some tracks in the second half of the disc. It's been a good read. Pos'd.

The album is surprisingly great.

That's not surprising because that's what everyone was expecting from this album.

I might be way off here, but hell, I'll go for it.

You seem to be in love with your own writing, and don't get me wrong, such high confidence is a really great thing, but it tends not to give you that detachment you need to successfully recognize the flaws in your work. Most specifically 70 word sentences, and some tangents that really don't lead anywhere. Also, tie-ing in with that observation, you seem really pompous in some sentences (Remember our discussion about the way GaGa treats pop?). I generally don't go to music reviews to get lectured at, but that might be a personal preference.

Other wise, this is really an excellent review, and with writing chops like these, you are going to do really fucking well on this site. But you're going to have to find some restraint first in my opinion. And, while you probably are the coolest motherfucker on the planet, you'll be a lot cooler if you don't treat yourself as such in the editing stage.

cheers, POS'd. really can't wait to read more of you.
