This is how I like my post-rock, when there are ambient elements in it and the atmosphere is often sad and melancholic, just like Bark Psychosis - Hex (well I also like very different post-rock like Jakob - Cale: Drew and the post-rock influenced songs in Fear Is On Our Side by the band I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness but those are exceptions).
Especially the song Winter Light gets to me every time I can't do anything against the tears. Then there are the brothers Through A Glass Darkly and Miles To Go Before Sleep which both come close to that melancholy.
This album is even number 6 in my top 101 electronic albums list but it really deserves it.
But I like to know are there post-rock bands and albums that are similar in atmosphere and melancholy to Hammock - Kenotic?

Yea, and in terms of similar stuff I'd say Helios, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, God is an Astronaut, Explosions in the Sky, Lights Out Asia, Slowdive (more shoegaze/dream pop), and the softer songs by Alcest and Deafheaven

this bitch getting bumped always makes my day
as for similar atmosphere, i think memory stream by the american dollar provides the same kinda warm melancholy. it's just a bit heavier on the electronics

Really nailed their ambient side on this one. The longer tracks are wonderful too.
