Lazarus is amazing, and solid album overall but I missed the industrial elements from TIOR whcih I was happy to see them bring back with Resurrection.

That quotes obviously not verbatim but I either read it or its on one of their dvds.

It disappoints me as well.

Another album like this would be the perfect soundtrack to lead armies of darkness and destroy cities.

They're currently writing a new album right now, so we'll see what they come up with. This Message Edited On 09.26.08

What's not to like?? That question can only come from a teen who thinks this album here is the pinnacle of metal.

The poppy song structures of course, I hate them. 9 of 10 songs have the same 3 chorus crap. What's to like about that, tell me? Those get boring very quick at least to me. there's nothing that keeps those songs fresh, there's also no balance. 3 chorus songs can be ok if they're at least well thought out and not being the majority of songs. If they only would have thought more about the songwriting, take more time to work on a song maybe it would have been better.

For example listen to Gojira - From Mars To Sirius, Textures - Silhouettes or any Meshuggah album from Destroy Erase Improve on, those are full of really well structured songs.

Or more melodic metal like Enshine - Singularity, every song very well structured, even 2 songs without a recurring chorus like Echoes or Resurgence. Why can't Chimaira do something like this? Why always go the easiest path?

You're really dogging Chimaira of all bands for not writing prog songs? This was always their wheelhouse.
