It seems like there are two different album covers floating around. Which one is the 'official' one?

I believe the one I put in recently, thanks to Voivod's direction, is the official one. I prefer the other personally, though.

In the site of metal archives, both covers exist, so i assume the US release will have a different cover from the European.

I may be wrong, though.

I too prefer the "cut throat" version, it puts more gore into the score.

Appreciate it Soby, but I'm pretty sure that most if not all the staff will detest this, save maybe Jom or Trey. I could be wrong, though, but as far as symphonic extreme metal goes, this is as good as it gets.

i used to love symphonic prog (which i now hate), but the only symphonic black metal i've heard is dimmu hamburger and cradle of suck

I feel like I wasn't even prepared for this, "The Vampire From Nazareth" was good but had nothing on some of the other tracks; "The Undead Keep Dreaming" and "The Great Mass Of Death" both use the orchestra so well, not to mention those choir voices...

i wonder if ill check this out
Ha ha, that's what I thought too. Except my answer was 'yes'... great album, but I'm not a fan of the nasally clean vocals.

So I checked this out and didn't like it all that much, oh well, wasn't really expecting to anyway based on what was said in the review but I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt.

I would kill for them to have Jonas Renkse do the cleans here, even Maynard Keenan would be interesting.

I dont think it's 4.5/5 material but I love the theatrical aspect of the record. Makes me feel like wearing a cape and facepaint while haunting some foreboding city with a vast amount of splendor.

And Balls wins the thread once more. Seriously man, where do you get those fully wacked-out ideas/phrases/wants, I have no idea, but hey, I'm not complaining.

As for the album, I might or might not give it a go, depending on whether or not I have the time/will. Communion didn't impress me is all I know.

I have a very creative mind....if only I utilized it more than with just music reviews and into channeled it into something like painting, lyrics, acting or of the ilk.
