listen to My Favorite Song and Little Mac -- there's still some more light hearted stuff on here (plus that reverberated 80s sound to the bass n drums? ill...)

What I like most about this is how raw and honest it is........
North Korean BBQ is for old souls. People 30+ (figuratively and literally.)
UT - can you relate to this album at all?

I don't really find it be "depressing" per se... that was kind of what I was trying to get across in my review actually.
sure, a lot of the subject matter is about heartbreak, loss or just realizing you're not the same person as you used to be; but it's also about being ok with those things and finding a strange sense of comfort in them. I think the pre-chorus to War Drum is a pretty good example of that ("this is the life, this is paradise...")

i just hate when albums form rap artists have a "winter" sound like this and they come out in spring

great review Hans and the reason it's similar to your 11:11 review is because the albums are also similar
a lot of the subject matter is about heartbreak, loss or just realizing you're not the same person as you used to be
and that's not depressing?
btw Shannon is unbelievable

but it's also about being ok with those things and finding a strange sense of comfort in them.
my point was that there's a glimmer of optimism through the subject matter, not just straight sadness

Waiting for the troll to arrive and MacLethal himself to troll him.

Excellent review.
I'm going to listen to this.

I liked this, though not as much as Origina 11:11. It's got some sick beats, and Mac's lyrics are awesome, but they're just a little too much in some places I guess. I'll probably listen to this again in 8 months time in December and 5 it, but for now it's like a 3.75ish.
Great review though, pos.

despite some very lackluster research, i still don't know what the original 11:11 sessions is in relation to just "11:11", so can anyone explain that to me?
but regardless of all that this album is something ill probably check out just to be able to add to my 2011 list. we'll see though, oneirology is fucking awesome, but i expect this to be very different for better or for worse, good to see some cool hip-hop coming into 2011.

original 11:11 sessions was supposed to be 11:11, but mac didn't want to go on tours with those songs because they were too emotional for him to perform constantly. at least thats how I understand it.
