I'm not sure how much I would concur with him being one of the most creative in the genre. He is without a doubt an exponential influence to my own playing, but I can think of a handful of 'metal' Bassist' whom topple him in regard to creativity and musicianship. Exivious, Augury, Ne Obliviscaris, Intronaut, Obscura, Scale the Summit etc.
Regardless, he is still an astonishing player.

I did not know that Augury had such a good bass player. I have not even really heard their music before. Is the music on par with the bass playing?

Dan Briggs is a beast. I was so sad on Colors_Live when they didn't show him when he was playing the bassline at the beginning of Informal Gluttony, which is one of my favorite basslines hes ever done.

Its all objective. In my sincere opinion; without a doubt. Augury are probably one of my perfered Tech-Death bands, specifically Fragmentary Evidence, though plenty of people prefer Concealed over it.
Fragmentary has much more audible, and better bass however. As well as a certain flair in the song writing which I adore.
