One of the best and most complete metal albums of the new decade(along with diamond eyes - Deftones

and Fake History - let.live)! Edge of the Earth reminds me of the awesomesauce that is The Blackening.

Both albums are so condensed and layered with face melting riffs and seamless song structure, it gives

me the impression each song took ages to craft. What makes this album so amazing is it is, like

mentioned before, thrashed evolved. Sylosis not only have that thrashy fist pounding sensibility, but

also inject emotion and intellect in their music. The end results are journeys instead of tracks.

Whether this album pleasantly infects metal head masses or Sylosis get the recognition they deserve,

may rob this album from classic status but it hardly detracts from a 5 ratting. m/

changed my mind
this is so damn good
the clean vocals have so much more of an impact when they are used sparingly like this

Meh, it has it's moments, but I found it a chore to listen through...it's just too damn long.

So good.

Why have I neglected the genre of thrash metal? Why?

72 minutes length. Wow... and it's not post-metal. But it sounds promising.

This album is a lot more focused than the debut. This 'outside the box thrash' is growing on me a lot. I think Sylosis have found themselves musically. The sweep picking in Empyreal is a real highlight.

This is another one of those albums that is really good, but is being way too overrated by a bunch of people giving it 4.5's and 5's.

Hey Jake you should check out old school thrash, that's the best.

And I have to agree with Hawks on this one.

Haven't gotten around to listening to this yet, but their last cd was great. From what I've read, I'm going to like this.

Indeed sir. Anyway I forgot to check the album out for the third time like an idiot... but I finally got it yesterday and it rules harder than the previous album.

Just listened to this, and it's definitely better than their last one. This is so good.
