i just find it funny that this has a lower ranking than travels/lost ground despite being better than both of them

I agree that this is their best yet; it's their most cohesive album. I think the reason this has a lower rating has to do with anti-hype. If both Travels and Lost Ground had been released last year, they probably would have lower ratings.

well I mean, there are more people willing to listen to something they won't really like, 2-3 range, now than there were a couple of years ago. Rateyourmusic's system is more reliable, I haven't looked yet but I would be surprised if this has a lower score than either of the other two on RYM
