some people certainly voted on impulse (my current vote isn't my final one by any means), but this is a relatively short record anyway and (to me at least) isn't too bad of a grower compared to some of their other records

Ultimately “The King of Limbs” is an album based around moiety, the first half being a workout in layered patterns and repetitions, while the second half remains vastly more accessible and humanized.
