^ So there is still hope then.
"I think we should all just be calm and listen to Original Pirate Material."
That sir is not a bad idea.

Cheers man, and I obviously respect your thoughts. The sad thing is that when I listened to this all I could think of was just utter disappointment. I couldn't even say that about Everything Is Borrowed simply because, to me, it sounded like he was at least still trying

| | | i cant get into this guy at all
| | | He's definitely an acquired taste. The accent, or his delivery, tends to throw a lot of people off
| | | look at this guy taking up the front page
| | | Point him out to me and I'll have a word with him
| | | Congratulations on owning the feature section and demonstrating to us commoners what it means to be a real reviewer.
| | | I'm not a real reviewer, I'm just a bitter young man with opinions

okay, so now that i've chewed on the album thoroughly, i can argue my points better...first point, from reading this review, it seems like you may have listened to the album once or twice, but, though well written, isn't a review as much as you talking about album covers, misquoting the only lyric you quoted (see above-haven't listened to the album very much)..."You can't google the solution to people's feelings"...plus it's a pre-chorus so he says it 3 times in the song, so if you've listened to this album even three times the laws of memorization would say you should already know them, and generally speaking about what mike skinner has said irl and using that for the basis of your opinion of the album...And in OMG he eventually finds out the girl he saw was in a relationship actually requested him to be in a relationship, so it's a typical goofy but poignant street's storyline...I think you gotta listen to "those that don't know" a little more to mirror your knowledge of the album
To comment on "Mike Skinner has nothing left to say"..."Is it who dares wins, or only who knows goes"...basically demonstrates his thematic development as an artist, going from someone who has dared (Original Pirate Material/AGDCfF) and now has grown up...Trying to Kill Me and We Can Never Be Friends basically screams "hey, i'm outta here, good-bye" so I don't see how you needed more closure...
There's no comparison that musically this is his opus...even with everything is borrowed, the production sounded too hollow but here every track shines...add to that almost every chorus is fantastic...most notably OMG's, soldiers, without thinking,...ABC is ballin...and a fat lemon bifffta

Yeah, I spent one of my paragraphs talking about them, that's nothing on the whole review
misquoting the only lyric you quoted (see above-haven't listened to the album very much)..."You can't google the solution to people's feelings"
That wasn't meant to be a direct quote

I don't care what it is, and don't try and tell me how I should convey my opinion
And in OMG he eventually finds out the girl he saw was in a relationship actually requested him to be in a relationship, so it's a typical goofy but poignant street's storyline...I think you gotta listen to "those that don't know" a little more to mirror your knowledge of the album
How does one "mirror" their knowledge exactly Chuckie? I listened to an album that I didn't like, for reasons already stated - get over it

I never said I wanted closure, I said I wanted Mike Skinner to actually have something to say. I wasn't looking for a poignant goodbye
Anything else?

Well then there should be no quotation marks. Quotation marks are for when you're directly quoting something. If you don't want the review readers to think you're stupid, then maybe you should fix that...

A mirror is a device that reflects the image in front of it. So the song mirrors your knowledge of the album in that the image reflected in the mirror of your knowledge could be the image of someone who doesn't know. Much like you, who seems not to know too much about this album, other than that you probably heard a song from it and decided to try to move a step closer to being a staff reviewer by writing a "tough" review bashing an artist for growing up and shifting to more philosophical endeavors rather than just writing his first two albums over and over again.
Though this review is quite long it makes very few legitimate, fleshed out points.

Rofl, and thanks for the assumptions. Yeah, I bashed him for going more philosophical despite the fact I mentioned in the review that he had already done that previously. Accept that someone didn't like an album that you did, and stop assuming it's because I have no knowledge of the album. I have the same as you, which is I listened to it and then subsequently wrote about it. I doubt you know any more, unless you wrote the album yourself? No, didn't think so. Now excuse me while I go look in the mirror and dig a little deeper into the soul of Mike Skinner
