yeah, it comes out the middle of Febuary. I don't know if it leaked -- I got a promo ;)
Oh you lucky bastard. I'm pretty excited for that.
Their debut is promising but not quite fully realized. Like a 3/3.5 but they definitely had potential.
I loved their debut. Definitely gave me a The Mantle era Agalloch vibe. Haven't listened to it in a while sadly.

I'd go with Winerfylleth for UK atmospheric stuff. Eh they may be more folk oriented than atmospheric, but still.

on a completely different topic, did a dude with 9 reviews and 12 comments really just get promoted to staff?

I didn't check that one haha. If that's true then I've been working my ass off for nothing and Crysis definitely got jipped on that one.

Both of them are qualified people from external sources so despite the fact that they haven't contributed here they have put their time in elsewhere and proved themselves.

Well that's kind of stupid, just my opinion. I think you should have to prove yourself here if you wanna be staff here.

agreed. there were people who deserved staff/contrib way more than those 3 guys.

Back to Fen, for their newest album to be good, they better hire someone to do some better cleans. The Malediction Fields had some really god awful clean vocals.
But the music was awesome. I actually have it in physical form and can't ever remember buying it...

I didn't think the cleans were too bad. Not really memorable though.

I loved their debut. Definitely gave me a The Mantle era Agalloch vibe. Haven't listened to it in a while sadly. That was kind of what the new Fen album reminded me of too, but with more post rock. The thing is that I'm not much of a Agalloch fan.I didn't check that one haha. If that's true then I've been working my ass off for nothing and Crysis definitely got jipped on that one. It's an experiment. An attempt to inject new life and opinions into the site. Nobody got jipped because they didn't take anybody's spot. We were never promoting more than three new staff.Back to Fen, for their newest album to be good, they better hire someone to do some better cleans. I've never heard the debut, but the new one had decent clean vocals (a bit too subdued, though).

I love me some post-bm though, so i'll really be looking forward to it, especially if you say there are better cleans. There were parts in The Malediction Fields that were just really really bad.

Post-black metal is definitely working it's way up to being one of my favorite black metal subgenres. Pagan/viking black metal is still my favorite, but it's damn close.

Hmmm interesting. Well I guess it's cool to experiment. I'm still gonna keep writing and shit because I definitely wanna become a contributor in the future.
