I love reading reviews that upset hardcore fans of a band. They always find the most asinine things to critique and end up reverting to childish name calling so quick.

"They always find the most asinine things to critique and end up reverting to childish name calling so quick."
This is an interesting observation... When a musical review (a critique) is submitted over the internet for all to see it also lends itself to be critiqued. Only not exactly since the reviewer has the ability to delete certain votes to maintain a high approval rating (mine was erased).
My apologies for the verbal assault before but technically there was no name calling - certainly nothing as unkind as things said in the review.

It was a general observation, that may not have applied to you (this time?).
A music review can definitely be critiqued and its shortcomings can definitely be pointed out, but that is almost never the way it works. It almost seems like a guarantee that a "5" and a wall-of-text posted in a negative review is almost certainly going to just make the poster look bad.
Only not exactly since the reviewer has the ability to delete unfavorable votes to maintain a high approval rating (mine was erased). Actually, they don't.

Why then did previously 8/10 people think the review was well written and now 8/8 say it was well written? Doesn't matter anyway.
You are correct though haha. I am a hardcore fan of this band so I do have a strong opinion about it. Nothing more for me to say. Proceed with the hate talk

You're kidding. I think the album name is stupid as hell though.

“The individual parts are sort of endearing, as Journal really do hold some talent”
Lol. ‘some talent’. Define talent for us.
“their general lack of writing ability only furthered the incoherence of the product”
Are you being serious?
“It takes itself way too seriously”
So seriously that they named one of the key characters in the story after a “Journal” anagram? lol
“glaringly cretinous retelling in the thirty minute long track, “Affinity.””
I agree that it is hard to listen to the last track more than once. Many will be turned off by this track.
I think this review distorts the truth about Journal a bit, but it was a good read and put together well.

I'm not kidding. I feel stupid. I thought it was a lame name for a mythical sword but I really like the album at the moment so it doesn't bother me.
