Brian Eno is a pillar in the genre, that's pretty much all I'm sure of.

Ooooh Brian Eno. Hmmm. I've always liked what he did with U2. Maybe him next after Raison D'etre?

WARGH SO MUCH GOOD MUSIC @.@

With U2, really? He appears in couple of Roxy Music's albums too. I think his best solo work is Another Green World

Yup, Eno has produced a huge chunk of U2's albums, starting with 1984's The Unforgettable Fire. I think the others are No Line on the Horizon, Zooropa, The Joshua Tree, and All That You Can't Leave Behind.

He also did this with them in 1995: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/39300/U2-Original-Soundtracks-1-%28As-Passengers%29/

(I apologize for that shameless plug of an older review of mine haha)

I'm actually not too sure, mainly because I haven't done much of it before. But the only way to know for sure is to try more out! =) =) =)

raison d'etre is scary as fuck idk if you'd want to start with it it was more of an observation on what was said.

I see. Then, would you agree with starting with Eno instead, Bitchfork?

And thanks for the slime, ElektricCity. So this is how activism manifests itself these days.

I see what you mean indeed.

eno's better at art-pop than ambient and most of the credit i give him is for him pioneering the style, not because he's the best at it. i mean ambient music 1/4 are fantastic but a large chunk of the more recent ambient is much, much better than eno.

@ Jamie: Thanks man. Based on your comments on my Gilmour-related reviews, I assume you're a reasonably big Gilmour fan? (or at least someone who is interested in what he produces)

If that's the case I would recommend picking this up - if just to have a look-see at some of the effects he produces (especially in the first half of the album).

Orbus Terrarum is my favorite album of all time, but it seems, after they made that album, every album
after it turned to shit
