Definitely agreed... Stupid Dream is basically Oasis with Steve Wilson as lead singer.

I totally agree with your review man, there are a few too many songs here that bore the f*ck out of me.

No point in starting an argument about differences in taste. But how can you compare earlier PT work to this and miss the presence of the new drummer, Gavin Harrison. He makes PT simply a different band. His playing puts the sound in a totally new space. Big oversight to miss this in the review.

Just got this, and I have to say, I'm really digging it. I mean, I've only had it for like a day and I've listened to Trains almost twenty times. I just can't get it out of my head.

Oh also, I disagree with the reviewer when he said Wedding Nails was a bad song. It was one of the songs that got me into the album. It was a pretty interesting instrumental, IMO.

If it's even from Progressive bands that you desire the same sound over and over again something is definitely not right. But although I don't agree with your point of view you delivered it in a very good written review.

As I see it "In Absentia" shows a different Porcupine Tree indeed, but the quality of the whole album is still mesmerizing. From my point of view (and pretty much shared by all my friends) is that their new "Fear of a blank planet" sort of marks a downfall for Steven Wilson's "flagship". This Message Edited On 07.30.07
