I'm not a huge fan of George's vocals no matter what he does. I tend to concentrate on Dallas.

It sucks that this band is plagued by weird 'elitists' who can't tell the difference between progression and selling out.

Why don't you just 5 the math sheet demos and give their self titled a 2 because it's obvious how much they changed between those 2 albums in order to make more money or whatever it is this review is bitching about.

i think it is fair to say they will never scale the heights of Watch Out! ever again.

I honestly don't think I have ever heard an album so close to perfect since I heard Watch Out! Crisis was enjoyable but hinted at a different direction which I wasn't so keen on. OC/YC was possibly the most irrelevant album I have ever come across in my entire life and now this. I just dont 'get' them anymore.

If you ask me, it's pretty hard to write an average to bad review on this site. Mostly every neg that I've received was for albums that I rated 2.5 and lower.

Not like I care about the approval rating, it's just when people freak out because I have a different opinion.

I say that Thrice's Identity Crisis was average, people freak out. I say BTBAM's The Great Misdirect was an 80 minute boring wank-fest, people freak out. I say The Blood Brother's last album only had a few good tracks, people freak out. I say that this, Dog's Blood, is one of the worst efforts I've ever heard, people freak out. I know it comes with the territory of critiquing art, but I think people need to be a touch more humble with their tastes. It's not like I'm giving Thriller or Master of Puppets a "1" rating here.

But at the end of the day, it's still a ton of fun to write reviews and interact with you guys, whether you want to sing my praises or toss me off a bridge. VIVA LA MUSICA! ONDELAY! ONDELAY!

oh an srsly if you gave their self-titled a "3" I would neg you srsly

Thing is as a few people have said, your review reads more like a fanboy freaking out about their change of sound from the self titled rather than someone actually critiquing the album, mainly due to your rating being provocatively low in order to gain attention from the other users, which is pathetic btw.

I think I've had plenty of time to get over their sound change: every album since their self-titled has sounded nothing like it. I never said "this album sucks because it doesn't sound like the album they made eight years ago", I said it sucked because it just plain goddamn sucks.

Sorry if I sound like a pissed off fanboy, but here's a question: how the hell do you write a "1" review without sounding petty to some people? It's a review full of complaints, basically. Since you LOVE this album and I HATE it, there must be some underlying motive for the "1" rating. It can't be because of difference of opinion! Perish the thought! I'm pathetic! Everyone loves the same album! Wooooooooooo!

Apparently not, because you're still whining about it in your review.

I'm not coming out and 5'ing this but it just clearly isn't a 1, 1 means awful and anyone other than a wingeing fanboy can recognise this isn't awful

Christ, you'd think I insulted your mothers or something.

Lesson learned, I suppose. Next time I'll give something a 2 or a 2.5 just so I can avoid all the goddamn babies. Waaah waaaah this isn't a 1 etc. etc.

I actually agree that Alexisonfire have gotten worse with each of their full-lengths...but I actually like this EP.
