nirvana was from aberdeen wa origionally. the band formed there. that is a fact. however, nirvana played most of their shows in seattle. they are considered a seattle based band with the trademark seattle sound that is commonly refered to as grunge.

Granted they did play a lot of shows there, also their last American show was at Seattle, but they aren't from Seattle.

dude.........ask ANY music historian and they will agree that nirvana is a seattle based rock band. they were influenced by the evolving music scene and in turn influenced that same musical movement. the band move to seattle near the end of their career. cobain "killed himself" at his home in SEATTLE

it doesnt matter where Cobain killed himself, where the music scene was evolving, the point is that Nirvana formed in Aberdeen. That's what matter.

nirvana is considered a seattle based rock band. they did not form there but are undoubtedly influenced by the musical revolution that is significant in seattle. listen to them. they have key elements that are siginficant to that revolution and are strictly regarded as seattle based. it does not matter where they formed. that is true for anything. take the modern truth that everything is influenced by 2 fundamentals. one is genetics or in this case where nirvana formed. the other is surrondings. they were influenced by their surrondings. they began to play the music which was revoluionizing the music scene in seattle. when nirvana surronded themselves with that type of music it influenced them just as a person's political interests are influenced by their geographical location in the us. it does not matter where they were born or formed, what matters is what influenced them. they spent much of their time in seattle so it is logical that type of music influenced them. i never said that nirvana was from seattle. i said that they had those key elements that were considered SEATTLE or GRUNGE like i perviously stated.

well what do you define as a hit? I think that a hit is something people know. Plus it's basically publicity to a band that'd been long gone for 8 years, so if you wanna get people to buy Nirvana, don't put tourette's on a greatest hits album.
