This is solid as hell. Love the chorus in 'El Dorado', Bruce just unloads those vocals with no effort.

I think its good...

No below average ratings yet. That's pretty cool.

I was quite disappointed when I listened to this.
Too many of the songs take forever to really kick off and when they finally do it isn't really worth the wait. The demanding length of the album also doesn't help either.
It may grow on me in time, though.

So far I'm loving this album, though I admit it drags on in the middle. But the start was amazing!

I'm unsure on this right now. I'm thinking a 3.5. Bruce's vocals really sound just plain bad on some songs.... especially Mother of Mercy... yuck.
However, instrumentally it's awesome as always.

Loved the intro to this and hated it on first listen. Definitley grows but is also the weakest of the reunion albums.

I agree.
Didn't like Bruce's delivery on some songs. Likewise for Nicko.

Will get it at the weekend, but doubt it'll top BNW, their best 6-piece album.

I don't see why people are complaining about the band's shortcomings. They're getting old! You should be lucky they are even making music unlike other old bands.

Good review
It took me few listens to really 'get it'.
To me, I think there's one little thing's missing ... I don't really like how the guitars sounds ... they seem to be 'too far in the background' .. the guitar sound is not 'powerful' enough to my taste.
Listen to 'Brave New World' or 'Dance of Death' then listen to 'The Final Frontier' and you'll know what I mean.
Anyway, it's still worth listening 'The Final Frontier' ... few times to be sure.

I'm actually liking this a lot first listen, didn't expect to like it much at all.
The first half of the title track is better than the actual song.

Oh god yeah, Nicko bored the shit out of me on this album. I dunno if it's his performance or that the drums are too far back in the album but this is the same guy who drummed on brave no world and where eagles dare!!
