Liked shutterbug and general patton and the review so I'm downloading this now. Never listened to any solo andre though so I can contribute absolutely nothing to that discussion.

yeah I'm confused by his "since Idlewild" comment... he makes it sounds like they've released a plethora of bad material since then or something. Have they done anything besides features or single songs on compilations/soundtracks since then?

no they haven't i'm saying that idlewild and big boi's solo efforts are disappointing i didn't even like his half of the Speakerboxxx/The Love Below of course 3 stacks contribution "The Love Below" was superb as expected and his feats on big boi solo songs tho very few he kills him on his own Sh*t on ATLiens,Aquemini & Stankonia there's moments he's up to par with 3 stacks but for the most part after the above mentioned albums he out shines big boi any given day of the week & outkast's sound is so unique because of what 3 stacks contributes to the duo cause big boi for the most part spits about the streets which we have already heard of before in hip hop was what i was getting at

oh my god sentences you fucking asshole.
I guess i can see what you're saying, that Andre is more unique, but you put to much emphasis on WHAT the rappers are spitting about, and not how they are spitting it. Big Boi sounds effortless on the mic, and that fast flow he's spitting is insane. Andre 3k sounds a bit too focused, his flow suffers a bit. They're both excellent rappers, but in terms of style and possibly lyrical ABILITY, Big Boi is the better rapper. 3 Stacks is just a lot more unique.

being a long time Kast fan i might check this out. is big boi still doin that purple ribbon label ??

joesmoe4000: I get what you're saying to, at least after I read it a couple times. I just think Big Boi's slightly better at what he does than Andre is at what he does, if that makes sense.

Really good album. According to Big Boi's twitter, "Lookin for Ya" with Andre 3000 was supposed to come after "Hustle Blood" and "Royal Flush" with Raekwon and Andre 3000 would have been the last track, but Jive made him pull them both.

great album. even better than speakerboxxx, i'd wager.
i always preferred patton to 3 stacks, speakerboxxx is about 10000 times more consistent than the love below, which fades badly towards the end.

yeah, Speakerboxxx actually had quite a few amazing songs on it, I still pop that in from time to time

I always thought of Big Boi as more of a side-kick to Andre's vision.
This album did not completely change that thought, but it did alter it.
