One of the things I love about Eminem is his ridiculous self-awareness. That's kinda why even his weak stuff makes you wonder whether it was all calculated or bullshit. Some of the stuff on Encore and Relapse is so unbelievably bad it brings to mind Rivers Cuomo, a guy writing records that are so bad they HAVE to be intentional. Eminem loves fucking with his audience, and drama sells...

Really digging this. One of the reasons I have so much trouble getting into rap is because they just talk shit all the time, but (most) of this album avoids that. And you can hear how much he means some of these tracks.
