This takes a little while to get going but it only pays off in the end; second disc/half is nearly flawless. Collins is great on all the Gabriel classics but particularly Supper's Ready goes beyond what most would hope to expect of him here.

Collins does an excellent job with the older material, sounding of course very similar to Gabriel.

Performing Supper's Ready without Gabriel was a brave move, but god it worked.

My only gripe with the album is the almost complete absence of their newly released Wind and Wuthering on which they only played Afterglow. The W&W songs under Hackett's credits were sadly not played on here, or in any of their others live albums to come.

Yeah the 'setlist' isn't perfect but I have few complaints either; it's a great mix of older (at the time) five-piece and more recent four-piece Genesis material.

The near-absence of W&W is indeed odd seeing how live albums following a particular studio release generally tend to include that one more or most extensively. And of course The Musical Box is too short, but alas. They do play that closing section magnificently, which makes up for it somewhat.

Yeah, while it's so moving, I think its criminal to have only included the ending of one of their greatest song ever.

Ah, gotcha, Spot the Pigeon yeah. I tend to forget about that one. Nothing too special about it.

What a relief, for a moment I thought there was a Genesis song Jethro didn't know about!
