you guys are pinning them down as metalcore...which they are. but, they shouldn't be judged because of it. this album is good because it has interesting riffs, that illustrate adam and joels (especially the former) knowledge of musical theory. whether written by venom or elton john, a good riff is a good riff.

as far as the review, that's not a bad one, especially for the first time...to make the case for a "classic" 5, don't limit it to a sub-genre. instead of "metalcore history", say "metal history", or, music history. if you can't use broader terms, you must at least question its status as a classic. or, at least i think. and also, learn more about heavy metal in general. it's a fucking-lot of a genre!

but anyways good job! and yes, love this record.

I need to get this still. Sadly, I lost interest in Killswitch a long time ago.

I've always wanted to learn how to play guitar. I've been playing drums for almost 14 years, and I've never learned. Ugh, I'm so lazy.

Sonofabitch, even Inveigh is in this; I also have an S from 2003. Never played and ESP before, only an LTD.

Fixation on the Darkness and My Last Serenade have some of the best choruses in metal. Fuck the KSE haters.

Inveigh you need to get an ESP Explorer so you can be like Hetfield.

My Last Serenade is one of those songs that can pull at you. The verses are so powerful while the chorus and the hooks are so beautiful. It's a perfect combination of what metallic metalcore should sound like. They mesh so well together

Nice first review. Opening may be a little too long, though.

For My Last Serenade it's the beginning groove, I just love that part.

i had an LTD before my ESP, and honestly it was great. If you get the right one it can be basically as good as most ESPs imo.

Inveigh you need to get an ESP Explorer so you can be like Hetfield.

but i got an ESP Horizon to be like Steph Carpenter!

other guitars I own:

Seagull acoustic

BC Rich Mockingbird

Alvarez 12-string acoustic

All I have is an Ibanez acoustic/electric with a cutaway. Its awesome though, cause its purple, and has lightning bolts on it.
