Latest episode almost forces you to side/sympathize with MIB, and funnily Jacob is portrayed as the follower, kinda sheepish and shy. But we now know why he's on the island. A) to ensure people don't attempt to obtain 'the source', and b) keeping the smoke monster in check, which he inadvertently let loose

Well yeah, we definitely have to sympathize with MIB because he dies and becomes the smoke monster, which now contains the source (notice how the light went out after the smoke monster left the cave?). Jacob's/the candidates' job is to keep the monster from leaving the island.

I just liked how it was a 180 from "man, this guy's just an asshole", to "oh wow, things kinda sucked for him. Someone killed his mother and then pretended to be her, lied to him, tried to kill him and then killed everyone he had lived with for like 30 years"

Season 5 has the best intro ever...
Idk man, Season 2 opener was a big WTF for me, but oh so good
Season 4 was barely long enough to consider rating, its easily the worst season yet

thing is, deviant is probably right about 2 being underrated... hated it back then but it might have been insanely important so i will have to re-evaluate upon watching the entire series a 2nd time...

The season 3 intro with Juliet's book club and Ben watching the plane crash from New Otherton was pretty mindbending as well.

I have them all on Blu Ray, so re watched recently. At the time the whole "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLT" and pushing the button thing kinda threw me, but looking back now and realizing why pushing the button was so important makes it so much better.

Yeah, Season 3 is probably my least favorite, but both the first and final scene are among the best scenes in the entire show run.

Only thing that got me about Season 3 is how did no one see the other island? Didn't Sayid and the Kwons circle the island to lay the ambush on what they thought was the others camp? In a boat no less

I can't imagine them not including him at all, but at the same time they can't really use him in the flash-sideways scenes because of how much he's aged.

They mentioned MIB being "special" throughout last episode, so I can see them finding some way to integrate Walt's specialness into the remaining episodes somehow. That being said, they probably won't.
