Great review, I'll definitely be downloading this before buying it (if at all).
Can anyone clarify what was the go with 3 members leaving Evanescence?
As far as I can gather, Moody reportedly was (is?) bi-polar, and the other two she basically just kicked out.
Though, it wouldn't be too much of a leap to say Moody left because of a disagreement on their christian influence (when they started out she said they were christian, but as soon as Moody was out of the band she took it all back and refused to talk about it)

Ew, this really doesn't sound interesting at all.
Honestly, I can't find a single thing about Bury Me Alive that interests me, in a single way.

its basically the same he's right but the album's not bad... you totally know if you'll dig it before you listen to it...

you totally know if you'll dig it before you listen to it... That sounds like it should make sense, but I like both Evanescence albums (and a lot of female-fronted music), but I didn't like this.

This is less a review and more a response to some of the things I've read on this site. This is good for what it is and really good compared to their old albums.
I wrote this in about 15 minutes on a whim just now.

Fan-fucking-tastic.

So, uh, what the fuck is going on with the string outro in Bury Me Alive? It completely shocked me when it went on for a full fucking minute. One of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

I agree too, and the worst part is that it sounds like it was played on a 1980s Casio or something.

Really? I'm still listening to this, but it's just not growing on me. I'll probably delete it by the end of the week.

gave this album a listen and really don't like it. Amy Lee is a better vocalist for this genre. I don't want to say Carly is a bad singer, but she's better for pop music; not this.

in light of this new ben moody news...
lol at this review That Ben Moody news doesn't change this review at all. The music is still crap and it's still Fallen-by-numbers. If it had been released by anyone else I would have still compared it to Fallen because it's unavoidable. If it had been released by Evanescence I would have probably given this an even lower score for them trying (unsuccessfully) to copy the formula of Fallen. He mentioned all the diverse music he has worked on and the diversification of his influences since leaving Evanescece, but he failed to make use of any of it. It's the same damn music that they shit out at 18, only it sounds manufactured this time.

i'm not disagreeing with your review man, I haven't even heard this pile of shit. it just warms my heart to think that sputnik played a small part in that mini cyber breakdown we saw from him today.

Oh. I thought you were trying to say that Ben's defense of this album (thinly disguised as a defence of Evanescence) made this review somehow wrong or misguided.
