Fuck yeah, it's finally here. Great review to go with it too Vooligan. Couple tracks in, this is an easy four at least. Will let it sink in for the coming days. I have to agree with Peepshow that 'Big' really isn't a very good song, imo not even when not related to other DLC tracks.

Seriously? Big was by far one of my favorites, it's got that awesome 16th-note drive behind it that to me really makes a good DLC song, not to mention it's catchy as hell.

could someone explain to me how this sounds in any way like TMV? it's a good listen if a bit generic in structure. the whoring of guitar delay is awesome

Big rules. You're wrong if you think otherwise.
Alachlalalalalahol: Its a pretty loose comparison really. More just related to the pace of the songs and the high pitched vocals etc. Probably clutching at straws but y'know, i think it works. Similar to the Closure In Moscow/TMV comparison.

Sticking to a four. Album is great but a little repetitive with some and hit and miss moments (oh-dear-not-another-spoken-word-one @ title track).
It's probably just me regarding Big. The song just happened to unfold almost exactly as I felt it would while listening to it. Never like those.

i wouldn't call the vocals high pitched. after hearing this album for the first time the band reminds me a lot of Harvard's The Inevitable And I with the way the songs meld and how the musicianship is not outstanding but solid through and through

^Very good CD, I can see the comparison. They're more of a Circa Survive dead ringer tho, DLC is WAY more creative.
Also, pretty sure 5:00 - the end of The Drum is the best thing I've heard in a LONG time.

up to reaction now, this is even better than I expected. Cage is awesome kinda reminds me of the renholder remixed a perfect circle songs

I'll tentatively give this a four after my first listen, I'll likely bump it to a 4.5 after I go through it a few more times, already one of the best albums of the year for me.
