The analogy of driving down an unfamiliar road as it pertains to retention is right on the money. That level of active participation by a listener is difficult to ask for, at least with the average person who just wants to dance or fist-pump.



Most people cannot grasp the concept of active listening, or putting forth effort to learn from the music and unravel it as if it were a puzzle or a journey.
