nah, episode 9 isnt as battle-intense as the peleliu ones though its pretty tense with sledge. snafu steals the show though imo, one of the few 'regulars' (along with leckie) who we actually got to see enough of to get a sense of character depth. im pretty interested to read leckies or sledges books, might try to find one.

Oh really? yeah it has been talked up as the mass jading of Sledge so I am excited to see it. Yeah Snafu is the best, greatest character.

Yeah my Dad has the books, yet I have never really been intrigued until now! We get 8 and 9 on Wednesday night, but I have been watching ahead.

Hardly a 'character' though.

Apparently in the books he has a huge impact on Sledge.

Just gave this a coupla re-listens for the first time in years... much better than what I remembered! Should re-watch the show too while I'm at it. Obviously not on-par with Kamens' work on BoB though.

The book 'With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa' used as source-material is probably the best war memoir I've ever read, and one of the best memoirs period. Need to give it a re-read when I find the time too
