microcastle is one i've never been able to get into outside of a few tracks. halcyon is definitely depressive but also celebratory, i find (especially in jams like coronado). monomania is one i just recently 5'd, which is weird because it took me a while to really come around, but god damn. what a fantastic collection of indie rock tunes. going to make my way to micro after this prob

And neon blurs my sight

I'm guided by strange lights

And I'm rattled and I'm stunned

As I walk into the sun

Not as good as Mirco or Halcyon, but probably better than Weird Era

Why the hell does this album decide to give up on its concept at track 8 and become a generic indie album?

the album was recorded in two parts: the first half was recorded over one day-long session, completely filling the reel of tape the band had brought with them. The last song of this recording session, "Red Ink", ends with the tape spinning off the reel.[1] The second half, recorded months later over a single day in November, begins with the song "Spring Hall Convert".

So it's really 2 EPs mashed together, with the first EP being FAR more inspired and interesting, got it
