These guys bear almost no semblance to ETID. Not even the vocals...
Seriously, these are very different bands.
As for the record, very solid stuff. Not groundbreaking, but very little is these days so whatever, props to them.

You can argue that musically they are different but youre just a liar or tone deaf if you think the vocals here dont sound like buckley's.

How? I can see the vague similarities I suppose, but they still project fairly differently, I think.
They're not totally contrasting, necessarily, but their voices are inherently different enough to disregard the comparison, at least when that comparison is used to infer that The Bled are 'too similar' or something.

Yah, without this review, I honestly don't think my mind ever would've gone to thinking "This dude's screams sound a lot like Keith Buckley." Perhaps if I'd listened to the albums back to back or something, but they aren't *that* strikingly similar that it needs to be harped on.

first time listening to The Bled. sounds gnarly, i like.
oh, the singers got the same scream-to-singing pattern that keith buckely has, so yeah he does sound kinda like him.

I don't suppose I really harped on it, I just mentioned it because it has been brought up by other people quite frequently

nah man but the bassist from the bled was seriously falling down. he fell off stage on the chick next to me, and he fell off the back of the stage onto the sound system. it was pathetic how drunk he was. rumor has it, it was his 21st b-day.

I've always been a huge fan of The Bled, but I expected a little bit more from this record, it's great nonetheless.

it really is a great record.
It's getting the same treatment as A Static Lullaby's Rattlesnake.
OMG SOUTHERN SOUNDING GUITARS go rip off ETID and Maylene moar omgawddddd.
It's pretty ridiculous.

It has nothing to do with the guitars and everything to do with the vocals

Someone on absolutepunk described it as Every Time I Die+Deftones and I think he got it just right.

I prefer their sound to ETID. I think the vocalist has a more desperate tinge to his voice. This new album (listening to it on Myspace) is rockadelic. I'm from Tucson though, so I'm bound to be biased. That's a cool band name, "Bound to be Biased". Hmm, I'm gonna go to sleep now.
