There is definitely some nu-metal influence on this, but it also has the most prominent industrial influences too. I don't mind nu-metal and I love industrial so score.

This is my first time listen to anything fear factory and I was really liking it until I heard the song Back the Fuck up. I just cant stand that rap shit mixed with metal. I really hope this is not the norm in any of there other albums. That would piss me off huge. Otherwise it was good enough for me to explore some of there other albums.
