Almost their best album. Great review. Better than mine. =)

The Rover is my favorite Zeppelin song. Period.

Good makeover review. Introspective. Rover, In My Time of Dying, Trampled Underfoot: Godly. Kashmir: repitious and boring.

I thought so at first, as well. Now, Kashmir has become a symbolic figure of experimentation in classic rock, for me.

I've got all Led Zeppelin albums, and I can honestly say Physical Graffiti is my favorite. Not only does it rock with songs like Custard Pie, The Rover, Kashmir, etcetera, but it also contains some truly beautiful songs, such as Ten Years Gone, Bron-Yr-Aur, and In The Light. There's not a single track I dislike, not even Boogie With Stu.

Oh yes...Ten Years Gone, with its oh so addicting main riff. I'd forgotten that one. Damn, Zep really shined in this double album. Sometimes I forget that because Physical Graffiti is so often grouped with the crappy "Latter Days."

wow, I was completely convinced that I was the only person in the world who thought "the rover" was the best song on this disc. glad you agree. I think it's partly because the lyrics are very unique and original, and the guitarwork is some of jimmy's best.

After listening to this cd for a few weeks now, I'd have to say that anything under a 5 does this injustice. This is actually my first and only Zeppelin album

Great review. The remarkable thing about Physical Graffiti is that it is there sixth studio release - how many bands are still breaking new ground and improving at this stage. There is so much soul in this album - I'm still not quite sure how 11 minutes, or so, of "in my time of dying" manages to hold my attention over and over . . . it's not as though there is that much to the song, but its just so damn cool. Thank God people still appreciate this stuff.
