I don't think what you heard was Disturbed then. They are hardly emo, they are not that heavy, and they surely are not metalcore. If they were not called Nu-Metal, they would Alt Hard Rock. End of story.

Yeah thats true - i think they sound mostly the same. The only songs that sound different are covers and overburdened from 10, 000 fists.

This is a great review for a great album by a great band. Good jump, the only part I disagree with you on is The Game. I like that song, maybe an 8/10, but whatever, good job.

I like the singer's voice in small doses. But I can never listen to this album the whole way through because his voice annoys me in large quantities. But I do like some of the first half of the album (Stupify, The Game).

The bridge on 'Down With The Sickness' was terrible, and deducted from an insanely good song.
I'm just getting into Disturbed, and I got the radio edit of DWTS. Much better...
Sweet review.

This album is their best IMO. Then 10,000 Fists came out and that is just as good. both just as repetitive.

I'm not really into "disturbed" but down with the sickness is a pretty good song

This album was good, and is probably the best Disturbed album available. But unlike some of my favorite albums this one had many, many holes. The 1-2-3-4 punch of Voices, The Game, Stupify, and Down With The Sickness is just incredible. Violence Fetish is Booooring, but Fear picks up the slack with a vengeance. Numb is too slow for my tastes, and Want is just not good. Conflict picks it up somewhat, but the ending part to that song is just not good. I hate Shout, and Droppin plates is too sludgy and poorly edited. Meaning of Life provides somewhat of a respite, I can look past the weird whispery parts and see the obvious quality of this song. Good album, I like to listen to some of the songs a lot, but not as a whole very often.

i disagree with this being the best disturbed album, i think Ten Thousand Fists has a mix of both this and Believe. Some songs on this cd are very catchy, such as 'The Game', 'Voices' and 'Fear'.

Down with the sickness is great!! sadly all the other songs sound ALOT like each other though.

This is one of the many disturbed albums i can stand. 10,000 fists is right behind this one.

I love the first half of this album, een though back then, Distured were not musically awesome, just vocally. (David Dramien pwns)
