Bone Awl and Raspberry Bulbs are fucking amazing. I'm not sure everybody understands that they keep everything as primitive as possible and that is why "every song sounds the same" but it really doesnt. They do a lot with very little and that is one part of why I dig their style so much. I would argue this LP is perfect for the genre. Ildjarn kind of created this style of BM and Bone Awl/RB perfected it. Sump is really good too and Grinning Death's Head is decent. White Medal is pretty good. But Bone Awl are the kings IMO.

You are the first person I've heard say that. GDH are imitators of Bone Awl, like a lot of BM on Youth Attack records.I always wondered if they got their name from the Bone Awl track "Silver Grin of the Death's Head" but maybe not, I realize the "Grinning Death Head" is an old term. They are good but nothing special and certainly not up with Bone Awl imo.
