Damn, this is going to end up being one of my new favorite bands. I'm listening to Devotion right now, but I'm going to grab a copy of this ASAP.

yeah, p4k blew their retard load for the year all over this one right here
and I think I agree with Lewis' first statement wholeheartedly
this whole album is endearingly pissing me off.

don't like this at all, yeti?
zion, i found devotion dragged a lot at times although i went back to it after this and enjoyed it more. this is far better though, and if you do enjoy devotion, you will no doubt like this.

nah I do, it's just, I feel like I should enjoy it more, and that fact is annoying me.
'Zebra', 'Walk In The Park', 'Lover of Mine', 'Better Times' and '10 Mile Stereo' are all f'in awesome, I just like them separately as opposed to in the sequencing. The album as a whole is boring as fuck, but the songs individually are pretty great for the most part. Hence why this is such a pain in the ass for me.
knowing how I am tho, by the end of the year this will crack my top 5, and I'll end up loving it.

"the album as a whole is boring as fuck"
yes^

I figured the Pitchfork rating was gonna be that high tbh, this is a respectable band creating a concise, accessible version of their core sound, and they go apeshit for that stuff (Bitte Orca, MPP, Veckatimest in just the last year). As for the album, it's officially grown on me

so the cover is just a blank white page or am I really missing something?

this is true but i mean whenever sputnik and pitchfork agree on an indie pop album that isn't animal collective album (Dirty Projectors, Girls, Grizzly Bear), I usually don't like it as much as I think should.

it's a hard album not to at least like a little bit, I mean, it's pretty dreamy pop.

which one? NPR or that 3voor12 or whatever... the danish one.

pop being dreamy doesn't necessitate it being good, it makes it enjoyable for short stretches of time and interminably boring over the course of an album
