the review site and the forums don't sync with my profile. Kinda weird so I can't get one.

Huh that's weird. Maybe run that by the mods?
|

yeah I probably should, I've just been lazy.

"Zep may have been the first, but they were soon outmatched in the 'hard' part of hard rock by Purple and Sabbath"
I see where your coming from, but I would still call the Who and Zep Hard Rock.

They could all play, especially Moon.

To be honest I'm not really well-versed in classic rock, but are there any albums that are similar to this that I might've heard before? Like I've heard the usual Who singles and all but nothing beyond that.

The best Who album is Who's Next, and not just for the legendary singles Baba O Riley and Wont Get Fooled Again. Whole album is awesome.

Very true Hans, this was an immensely talented band.
hmmm can't say this is quite like anything else I've heard, although some other concept records like The Wall might be considered similar. I'll come up with a list of songs from this record to give you a good idea.

Queen's "A night at the Opera" is a concept of sorts, although its kind of a strange one.

I love Who's Next, but I think this works better as a cohesive album. Who's Next definitely has more standout rock tracks (Baba O'Riley, Won't Get Fooled Again, Song is Over, etc), but they really nailed their ambition here. Not to mention the concept is brilliant.
