I saw this in a cd shop in the city, I almost bought it but I decided to see what sputnik had to say about it first before buying it. But I'll get it, you guys seem pretty confident in its greatness.

I will re-dig this album and Bergtatt. My new exploration of Blackmetal ask for it. My rating will go up. I will let my maniac interest for excellent production in the closet for these listening session.

IMO, this is the best Black Metal album ever. It barely beats out Transilvanian Hunger.

The production makes this album what is it, clear production would not fit at all, it would make the album worse.

I agree. I like bad production. If the production was good, i definitely wouldnt have rated this a 5. It would probably sound retarded.

Yeah this album would be good but not great if the production wasn't the way it is. Love this album to death.

I think that I may up my rating. Been listening to this a lot in the past few days and I've realized how much this album has grown on me. Some of the riffs here are amazing for a black metal album such as this. There is actually a lot of melody underneath that production, I'm pleasantly surprised.

Hymn IV explodes into one awesome riff. There are plenty of amazing riffs and melodies but this is definitely one my favorite moments on the album. Hymn III and VI also rule.

I agree, Hymn IV is insane, as well as Hymn I and III. Love this album.

Emperor' Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk and Wolves in the Throne Room' Two Hunters. Both of those albums hit me in a way that I can't even begin to describe.
