Yeah. Out of like, the more ambient tracks my favorite song would definitely be Atrophy. The last portion of the song when Silberman cuts in again is so genuine and resolute when he says "no ones gonna come as long as I stay still in bed beside you" just gives me chills every time.

Good luck with that...i'm off to bed - 3 in the morning is quite late enough for me :P

The lyrics in this show exactly the kind that hit me the hardest.
Its like its full of well thought out and poetic metaphors but then he'll throw in a line like;
"But you return to me at night, just when I think I may have fallen asleep.
Your face is up against mine, and I'm too terrified to speak."
It's like on Neutral Milk Hotel's song Two Headed Boy pt. 2.
The last line;
"She will feed you tomatoes and radio wires and retire to sheets safe and clean. But don't hate her when she gets up to leave.."
Like admist the abstract poetry there's that one just straighforward line.
Idk if that makes sense but yeah, rant over

yah i think our lyrical tastes are very similar in that regard. Re: Stacks off For Emma is the best example imo, all blackbirds and tossing keys and then, "your love will be safe with me"

Very true.
Is that your favorite lyric?

My favorite lyrics from For Emma, are from Flume when he sings "only love is all maroon / lapping lakes like leary loons / leaving rope burns -- reddish ruse". Poetic lyrics are so much better than many other musical aspects that I think it clouds my judgment...

Mine are definatly from the song Timothy from As Cities Burn's Come Now Sleep.
Take me back to where I was before I was born. Its like sweet and dreamless sleep, that sounds like heaven to me.
never has a single line changed my life to such an extent, you know?

Oh yeah that's pretty much the perfect ending to that album. I thought you were talking about best lyrics from For Emma, in which case they are the lyrics I named above. I really like the line from Made Too Pretty, "If we are the body, how'd a pretty man get so ugly? How'd he get all these spaces between each limb?" It's pretty fantastic.

Sylvia was my least favorite track the first time I listened through it, now I suppose it would be Wake though even though I still really enjoy that song.
