he has some range, unlike the old guy. makes the songs sound way better.

"I think everyone says they hate the new vocalist just because there are moments where he doesn't sound like he fits the music as well.
Their previous vocalist wasn't very good at all, but he seemed to kind of "go with" the music, as opposed to the one now; at times his screams or shouts or whatever you wanna call them..sound like they shouldn't sound the way they do at times. It sounds like your typical scream/shout style singing...not really anything interesting about his voice. He sounds excellent live with them, however. Great album, great review, let's hope this band can improve; let go of the genericness of their music and create a really really good, solid album. They have too much talent and potential to waste it on a repetetive breakdown/chug-fest."
I was just about to post that exact thing
The new album does has better production, but I just can't seem to like the new vocalist.
I like him, but just not with this band.

Album is still BREAKDOWNSSSSSSSS

if you like tasteless, mindless and bland breakdowns, aimless sweep picking and a imbecile's definition of a solo, then yes, you'll find this entertaining

thats a pretty ignorant statement. their breakdowns actually involve theory, polyrythms and the like, more than many of their peers can say. there isnt much sweeping on this album at all. the solos in ometh are as good as any metal band out there. so chances are youve heard one or two songs, decided you didnt want to like it because its been tagged as 'core', and bash it with no real consideration. good work.

The breakdowns are boring palm muting with crash and snare hits. Playing that in different time signatures doesn't make it less generic or boring.
He reviewed the first release, so I'm pretty sure he's heard the whole thing.

i listened to the whole damn painful thing, cried for every minute, then wrote my review
no, wait, i wrote that review beforehand and then listened to make sure i was right, which i was

i dont understand why everybody is against that style of breakdowns. its just a groove pattern. and ulsufyring, youre seriously drunk if you dont like those solos.
|

solos are fine but YOU are "seriously drunk" if you think they are the best in metal or anywhere close
we're against "that style of breakdown" because we've heard them A THOUSAND FUCKING TIMES.
