I need to listen to more Genesis, where should I go from here?

I'd say Nursery Cryme because it's my favorite and their most underrated classic. If you're looking for more along these lines I'd go to Foxtrot or (if you really want to slog through it) you could try The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. Finally if you are more inclined by the pop aspects of this record (I know What I Like...etc.) then Wind and Wuthering is a great middle ground between their old school proginess and the Collins era pop.

Well I really like this album, but it feels a bit too theatric at times for my taste. I was hoping to go for something a little less grandiose.

It's prog, all prog is slightly theatrical, but I can see your point, I'd stay away from The Lamb Lays Down On Broadway then. All of Genesis' prog stuff has a large amount of that over-the-topness and to many that's part of their charm. Try the first song, it's more toned down than this album and might appeal to you more. If you don't like it though, I'd recommend some f the poppier stuff such as the second track.

@Mutatedfreek; A Trick of the Tail > Wind and Wuthering IMO.
@LegendofPittman, if you want to explore some good stuff post-Gabriel, get Wind and Wuthering, A Trick of the Tail, Duke, and both live Seconds Out and Three Sides Live. Also, do consider what Mutatedfreek suggested to you. Here's a list that I'm gonna redo today (it will include their whole discog this time, not only Gabriel era)

I definitely like the first link more than the second. I am a fairly large Prog fan and I don't mind the theatrical stuff, but sometimes it gets a bit cheesy for me. haha So yeah, I'll definitely check out Nursery Cryme. Thanks a lot for the list Jethro.

You're welcome LegendofPitt.
@sonic; If ever you dig 'The Lamb Lies down on Broadway', you absolutely have to get this too;

It contains The Lamb live. I personally slightly prefer that live over the studio version, and it says a lot.

Not the most technical indeed, but the most eccentric. He is the pioneer of the theatrical character. He was god back in the day. He still is for me of course.
