I'm really straining on a rating for this.... there are a couple major problems with the album (the biggest ones being: a) they try way too hard to be progressive and b) that most "metalcore" parts are so boring they can just be considered filler between the interesting, non-metal parts parts.) Not to mention the nasty-ass album art.
It's strange, it's as if I stop thinking too hard about the album, the more I enjoy it, which I'm sure is the opposite of what these guys intended.
I'm thinking a 3.5, because they can be VERY good when they want to be. The musicianship is killer, there are some absolutely jaw dropping passages, and it features less vocal work. Plus, the beginning of Fossil Genera reminds me of old NES games.

yeah true ill give u that point, i still think their songwritings better than some ppl make out to be.. but opinion on this album is 50/50. I only brought up immortal because it made me lol and i can think of many BM bands which i think are better.. w/e this isnt about immortal so ill sit down and shut up about that.

I grew out of this band. The only album that's mildly interesting of theirs is TSC. The rest get worse and worse as time goes on.
