I don't know, maybe it was just me, but Drawing the Line's chorus didn't get on my nerves. In fact, I would go out and say it was an integral part of a liberating song, a climax of the first third of the album. And I think that's what the album's strength and weakness is--it's designed to be taken as a whole set-list. I don't know if I could rightly judge any of the songs on the main disc without talking about how it sits in with the rest, save for 'Time Flies', which by the way I do feel was a bit too long.

Not sure why, I also always associate Drawing the Line with the Blind House story backdrop. I probably should stop obsessing about that song. The album is definitely a grower though, but I don't think Deadwing is in anyway a superior album. The first track is boring, and after a few plays the other long track, Arriving Somewhere, is also boring.

But seriously though, why do random people praise Deadwing so much? Most of the album felt totally uninspired. Or, too inspired, rather. Shallow, while humourous, was straight up commercial nu-metal. Lazarus was....Cold Play. Arriving Somewhere was a practice in mixing soft-electronic PT with stale Hard Rock 'chug chugga chugga duh duh Duh DUH Duh duh duh'-ing going on.

Now, the *DVD* Arriving Somewhere was fantastic....but FoaBP is vastly superior to Deadwing, as was In Absentia before it. And Even Less is the most awesome song ever created.

people are praising IA, FOABP and deadwing but are forgetting how good lightbulb sun and stupid dream are too. i would probably start with in absentia...skip deadwing (even tho its pretty amazing) get FOABP then the rest
